There now follows a public information film...

As a kid growing up in the 70s, public information films were regularly on TV warning of the dangers of busy roads, boiling water, nuclear attack and…drowning.  One of the classics was ‘Charley says’.  A young kid with his cat narrowly avoid death and injury in all kinds of ways.

There haven’t been any such ‘films’ for years, which is a pity because as well as their comic value nowadays, the films did actually warn people of the dangers all around them, without ‘nannying’.

Here, is a classic ‘Charley’.  Next week’s film will feature Joe and Petunia…

Thanks to Sue Taylor for lending me the DVD…
